The first annual Louisiana Craft Beer Week kicks off on September 22nd offering beer lovers a tasty tour through some of New Orleans best watering holes
Showing off their best recipes for creating a flavorful cold one, Louisiana’s craft breweries take to the town to the delight of thousands of their fans. One of the highlights of the tour for the Carrollton neighborhood will be held at Mellow Mushroom located at 8227 Oak Street, when they host Abita Brewing on September 24th from 7-9PM. Grab a slice of Mellow Mushroom pizza and enjoy it with a glass of Abita Pecan Harvest Ale aged in oak.
On Sunday, September 22nd, the first day of Louisiana Craft Beer Week you can join the fun at the Avenue Pub (1732 St. Charles Ave.): Sample some great jambalaya from the Bayou Teche along with some Hop-Olousas IPA and Miel Sauvage honey beer starting at 3 p.m.
Monday, September 23rd: Barley Oak (2101 Lakeshore Dr.) offers up beers from Chafunkta and the only tasting of Covington Brewhouse‘s imperial porter starting at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, September 24th: Still want more? The adventure in delectable brews continues at 9PM at Big Mama’s Lounge at the House of Blues (225 Decatur St.) Enjoy the music of Cary Hudson as you savor Tin Roof’s citra dry-hopped Blonde Ale.
Wednesday, September 25th: Mosey on over to the Columbia St. Taproom (434 N. Columbia St., Covington) at 6:30 PM where dinner will include Bayou Teche beers.
Thursday, September 26th: St. James Cheese Company (5004 Prytania St.): Enjoy a New Belgium tasting of sours and meet Lauren Salazar from the brewery. 8 p.m.
Friday, September 27th: Get thee to the Brewery! Enjoy this authentic beer-tasting experience at the NOLA Brewing Tap Room (3001 Tchoupitoulas St.) with a special selection of beers at their in-house bar starting at 4PM.
Saturday, September 28th: City Park Festival Grounds. Roundup of the best of the best at New Orleans on Tap to benefit LASPCA. Free admission. 1–7PM to this Beer Festival with beer from state and national craft brewers along with home brew.
